Bob,

If you're really worried about it, register it in the state you 
bought it. On the other hand, if you have all the paperwork showing 
you just bought it and are on your way home I wouldn't worry about it.

What I would worry about is towing an old trailer a long distance 
without going through the undercarriage. The tires, while they may be 
unworn, will likely be old. And you won't know about the brakes and 
bearings until you take a look yourself.
