[A/S] Traveling with dogs

Jim,
I bought my Airstream for the express purpose of being able to boondock at 
showgrounds where I am showing my dogs.  Thus, I have yet to use the trailer 
without at least two dogs with me.  Occasionally I do need to leave the dogs 
alone in the trailer for a short while.  I leave windows and vents open and 
the fantastic fan running.  The trailer stays quite comfortable even in warm 
weather, especially if the awning is out.  You can check this with a 
maximum-minimum thermometer available at most hardware stores.  When I have a 
choice of parking spaces, I choose one with shade in the afternoon.

Re: Noisy dogs in campgrounds
In the overnight parking area of a dog show, a veritable sea of motorhomes 
and trailers packed closely together and all stuffed with dogs, it is 
amazingly quiet at night.  I sleep undisturbed with the windows open, and 
only occasionally hear a muffled "woof" in the distance.  In the daytime, you 
will hear more, but surprisingly little, considering the number of dogs in 
such a small area.  Granted, show dogs are well-accustomed to traveling and 
tolerating lots of hustle and bustle without complaint.  However, I think the 
main difference is that the people are sensitive to the issue.  I suspect 
that the inconsiderate people whose dogs were being noisy at the campground 
rarely travel with their dogs.
