Most of our Summertime camping is attending antique tractor shows and
such. Most of them have some sort of camping available, many with no
hookups of any kind. None are longer in duration than 4 days. One of the
main reasons we bought our trailer originally was to camp in these
situations, so we resolved to not carry anything that requires 115VAC
power. This means no microwave and no electric coffeepot.

It might be quite a surprise to some to find out that you can actually
make real coffee using your gas stove, no electricity is required.
Others might be surprised to hear that you can do real cooking using
nothing more than your gas stove w/oven. A few more might not realize
that there are TV sets that run on 12VDC and/or small inverters.

My objection to folks who don't know how to live without shore power
isn't that they must have generators, but the fact that they won't spend
the extra bucks to buy a quiet one. If they can afford the 20-50
thousand bucks for their 5th-wheel trailer, they can spare ME the racket
from their genset. The people with the raggety old trailer that they use
only for these sorts of rallies seem to get by w/o a generator at all,
it's only the people with expensive rigs.
