Here is the Houston, TX area we are in the middle of another one of our HOT
summers. The high during the day is 95 to 98 degrees, with probably 80%
humidity. My 76, 31' A/S still has the original Armstrong AC and during the
heat of the day, no shade, will keep the inside temp at around 20 degrees
lower that the outside. The temp coming out of the unit at the vent is right
at 58 degrees. At night it will freeze you out and the temp coming out of
the vent around 45 degrees. I keep a pocket thermometer in the vents most of
the time just to check it.-
It is interesting that a newer AC will not provide better cooling that a 25
year old AC. I have though about upgrading to a new AC, but maybe it would
not do any better than what I have.
