Bob,
 It isn't just "your" peace of mind, but that of the folks around you.

We just got home from a weekend at a county park (read: no electricity)
where our solar panels provided more than enough power for us.
Unfortunately, we had to suffer others' use of Generac-style gensets
from 8:00 AM until 11:00 PM. The one guy was actually seen looking at
his watch so he could fire up the genset at the stroke of 8:00! I'll
grant you that it was warm, but it wasn't unbearable, so A/C should NOT
have been "necessary". (If someone has a medical condition that requires
A/C, then they owe it to fellow campers to buy a quiet genset.) Although
we were at least 75 yards from these clowns, it was annoying to listen
to.
