If there is a rule I would say it is Watts/volts = amps, or 
amps * volts = watts

The AC unit only uses about 11amps or about 1250 watts. About half of 
the rated capacity of the gen. A stereo might use 300 watts.

I have no idea how much juice the univolt pulls when it is charging.
