I would just like to mention that here in Houston a number of years back we
had a 18 wheeler loaded with ammonia take a freeway cloverleaf turn too fast
with the result that he went over the side.  The tank split open, and a
number of people died from breathing the fumes.  They were in their cars and
the ammonia was sucked in through the air conditioning vent.   A number did
not die, but their lungs were severely damaged.

I later saw the effect on the vegetation where the ammonia cloud had passed.
It was all dead and brown.

I would not take any chances on breathing ammonia.  It can kill you almost
instantly !
