I hadn't seen the controller for the A.C. units I have to check it out. 
 The price of the two 2000 units is the same, however the 3000 weighs 
135lbs. (electric start) and the 2000 weighs 46lbs. (pull start) so 
there is a weight savings for the same price and 1/3rd more power.  The 
price paid is additional hassle of setting up the two units, which for 
me isn't much of an issue.  I also like the idea of running the one 
smaller genny if I'm not using the A.C.

So FWIW, these are some of the considerations I've come up with
