Tom,
 High concentrations of almost any gas other than AIR can kill you very
rapidly. Gasoline, exhaust, etc. are all deadly quickly if there's lots
of it.

OTOH: Ammonia, in the concentration you're likely to encounter in your
trailer while removing a bad fridge won't bother you. 

Obviously, if you have no common sense, leave it to a professional. (I
don't mean you personally, YOU do know better)
