First off, a big thank you to everyone for the flooring repair 
advice, it is all much appreciated information. (Answers are a 
beautiful thing!)

Secondly, I have tried mineral spirits to remove the tile glue 
remaining on my floor, using a wide paint scraper but I find it 
very slow going. Is there an easier way?
