Re: [A/S] Dometic Fridge Repair?

I want to weigh in on the ammonia discussion. I'm no expert, but my ex
worked for the Friendly Ice Co at the main plant. They have a monster
ammonia cooling system.

First of all ammonia used as a coolant is WAY stronger than the ammonia
that you get at the grocery store. What is does is eat up the oxygen in
the air, so in a big airtight freezer room, a high pressure ammonia leak
is a life and death situation. They were all trained in using Scott
airPaks to go in and rescue people and turn things off.

I don't know what the concentration is in a trailer fridge, nor under
what pressure, nor how much is in there.

I would have all windows open, fans blowing, and try not to make the
leak worse when you move it. If it does get worse, just leave and wait a
while. Some people have a strong reaction to it, so be a bit careful.

Maybe I'm being a worrywart but anyway.
