Re: [A/S] Dometic Refrigerator "Burping"

Hi Jim,

I mounted mine pointing up and attached them as far up the wall behind the
fridge as I could reach. Dean's method of funneling movement of air across
the cooling coils is just what the coils need. In the long run, you'll be
glad to have a 12" small dedicated solar panel providing the power to your
muffin fans. Use fans that draw minimal power. It doesn't take much cooling
to do the trick.

The solar panel can be mounted onto the aluminum refrigerator vent and the
wire dropped down the vent hole to the fans. Each situation is slightly
different. Put on your Rube Goldberg hat and go high tech, a la Dean Sale.

In my opinion, this solution treats the symptom, not the cause. When I
found a refrigerator guy with lots of experience (Oasis RV in Tucson) and
told him what I was doing, he said, "show me" and then proceeded to fix the
cause. I no longer need the fans. The fridge does it all on its own.

Don't ask me what he did, it was 100 degrees outside and my enthusiasm for
learning had long since vanished and been had replaced by efforts to find to
a cold drink and an air conditioned room. His labor and parts cost me a
paltry $50. Big deal, huh?

Now, the cold drinks are in MY refrigerator and the fans provide a
refreshing breeze while I recline on my lawn chair (while boondocking).
