This stuff is great sometimes, and other times it is a dreadful mess.
Previous owner sealed up one of my Vista Views with it, Grrrr.

There are two types, expanding and less expanding for window gaps in
houses so it doesn't warp the window out of alignment. Both kinds are
sticky, stiff, and very hard to remove. Using it behind the fridge would
effectively weld it in place. 

On the other hand, I used cases of it on my 1740 Cape.
