Harvey,

I think you stated it accurately.  Speed is the most common cause of 
Airstream (or any other Rv) accidents.
Just because one can get speeds up to 70 or such does not mean that you 
have control of your rig.  The higher the speed the more passing trucks 
will affect you, a blowout, a gust of wind and many other variables.  
The shape of our rigs is a great advantage but they will get airborne in 
certain conditions.

On my trip with the Panama Caravan one member was using a Hensley hitch 
and under the specific conditions it also brike--gives you something to 
think about.
