Re: [A/S] Air vents etc was - 1986 32' Airstream Trailer for Sale

I have a '69 31' International that I once full-timed. I the times
of extreme heat or cold I placed a plastic bag chock full of
styrofoam peanuts between the screen inside the A/S and the
vent covers. Served as pretty good insulation.

The '79 has light fixtures below the vents. I like the arrangement
in the '69 better. Seems to me to have a more noticeable air flow
when using the vent fans.

My current full time A/S is the '79 31' Int with dual pane windows.
I have installed 3" square computer cooling fans 2 each in
each window. These draw .17 A @ 12 VDC and are rated to move
27 CFM each. For a little over three amps I get a fair amount of air
exchange. I hardly ever run them all at once. On my yearly summer
excursion through West Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, I boon-dock
a lot. I think the little fans will help keep the A/S cooler or at least
feel more comfortable. I have full awnings on both sides of the '79.
when parked North to South the shade from these awnings seems to
reduce the temperature of the air brought in with these little fans. Also
parking N to S lets the solar panels see the sun longer.

All of this carrying on is because Charlie mentioned "dead air space".
