Good question and makes for an interesting topic... those of us who have been 
doing it a while not only will have ideas, but will learn about more.

It is true, and the trailer will probably be equipped with the "emergency 
brake"  

Everyone, what do-dads have made life better for fun & what's necessary.....

I'll start...necessary........ 

Wheel chocks..... a pair of them.  The little yellow plastic ones at Walmart 
are crap .... get some real ones.  Mine are for Tractor trailers, big black 
heavy rubber...... the ones that go between the tires on tandem axles are 
great. They come in metal or wood... lots of the wood ones are homemade.

White hose for drinking water.... at least two 25' 3/8"- Camping World

At least one 25' 30 amp extension cord (I have two-50' more giving me a total 
of 75')

A couple of heavy duty *dog bone* adapters so you can plug you big 30amp plug 
into 15 amp service (15 male to 30 female)( for use at houses, yours or when 
visiting). The dog bones are better because the weight of the cord will pull 
a flat adapter out of the wall)  

A "stinky slinky" and an adapter to go from Thetford fittings to the rest of 
the world. My favorite sewer hose is the one they sell at Walmart... Camco I 
think.... you turn a ring to tighten and loosen it. You will also need the 
end thing that screws into the sewer opening. There's a kit at Walmart for 
19.95... everything in a big yellow box... my sewer of choice! A sewer cap 
that fits the adaptor that has a little hose inlet.  Another hose to drain 
grey water (in places that allow)
Walmart sells a hose extension that's 6'... perfect for draining discretely 
under the trailer.

When you are buying a hose buy a brass "quick connection adaptor" I have one 
on my #1 hose and my attachment hose at the trailer..... heaven.

A small 300watt inverter....... incase you need it. (I've used mine once in 3 
years)

A flashlight, tool kit, duct tape.

For the Hensley... did you get tools with it? If not, you'll need two. One is 
made by Hensley, the other is a wind up wrench. I sound like such a girl... 
can't think of the real name.   

Levelers... I use Lynx... they look like big orange Legos. You can use boards 
too... 2X10s stacked...... with little ramps on the end.
