[A/S] Check new trailers

When I worked for a sail boat manufacture We normaly delivered the boats on a 
custom built trailer that was manufactured localy. Once when the salesman 
went on a sales trip he made it about 80 miles before the hubs welded 
themselves to the axel stubs. the bearnings were installed without being 
packed with greese. 
On another occassion I had to deliver a 6500 28ft boat to a boatshow 
1200miles away and it had to be there at 7:30 am tues we recieved the trailer 
at 5pm Sat finally got the bunks adjusted and the boat loaded at 1am Sunday. 
the owner and I took off immedatly to drive straight through. The trailer had 
surge breakes. I tried the breaks and found the were not working. the owner 
assured that it was my emagition that they had to work as the trailer was 
brand new. 
When we retutned a week later I pulled the wheels and found the manufacture 
had not installed the break shoes.  we made the trip safely .
The moral to all of this . be sure to check the running gear of your trailer. 
dont assume that because it is new or reconditioned that ravery thing is ok.
