Folks can say what they will, I remember the "incredible disintegrating 
Firestone tires" from the mid 70's....I had them on my 1977 Grand Fury 
Plymouth Wagon (the radials wore out in 18000 miles, had tread lifting, and 
Firestone replaced them)... and I had a next door neighbor and a man up the 
street who BOTH had Firestone's disintegrate while they were driving.  My 
neighbor almost ended up in the hospital after his Firestone on the right 
front disintegrated on a Texas country road at 65 miles an hour.
