John,
I just finished a long thread that just ended on the
Compuserve RV Forum regarding camping in Canada. I
stayed at the KOA that was just north of Niagra Falls
on the U.S. side. It was nice, I wouldn't consider it
great though. No real activities or things that make
it especially attractive. I probably would stay there
again if I was in the area.

While there are campgrounds in Canada I didn't bring
the trailer into Canada because of a posting that I
had read from a person who ended up having his trailer
contents turned upside down by Canadian border
crossing officials.

We decided to site-see one day and crossed the border
north of Niagra Falls. Our vehicle was a full size
van and my wife, son and I were the only passengers.
After answering the stock questions we were asked to
drive over to a building and to get out of the van and
sit on some benches. Three officials then went
through the van and basically emptied out my tool box,
camping supply box, and all the compartments in the
van. Just like the description of the travel trailer
search, nothing was put back everything was just lying
on the floor or the seats.

It seems that this one traveler and I have been the
only 2 in the forum that have had this experience.
Personally I understand what the Canadian's are doing
but the issue of having to repack your trailer is more
than what I would want to experience. For this reason
I'm not very excited about pulling the A/S into
Canada.
