Ed,
Be careful of which you wish, it may come true. I have turned away 
from a couple of affordable 50's Airstream. I have been reading this 
list for quite a while and see a 50's A/S as a great restoration 
projects, not for us who want a vintage A/S we can use and maintain 
as we use it. I have great admiration for those who tackle such work, 
and I am in awe of their knowlage and experiance. As I see it, it 
takes on an average of 2 years of work and about twice the purchace 
price to get one on the road. Unless of course you found the one I 
was looking for that has no frame rust, no floor rot, new 12v 
converter/charger and wiring, no corrosion in the water heater, no 
cracks in the water tank or water lines, a good air compressor, 
perfect glass & weather stripping, no corrosion on the exterior light 
fixtures, and already been refitted with waste tanks. :) I can handel 
the brakes and new wheels.
