[A/S] 69 Style

Dearly Beloved:
I'm new to the 'stream having lurked these pages two years prior to
buying a 1969 Overlander (Int'l, twins, rear bath). Now I have some
serious questions & need your help. My Overlander runs great but
looks pretty awful inside..avocado & brown shag, dark wood, missing
trim...If you have updated or restored an A/S in the Avocado Green
period, please advise. My foam is very good but green covers getting
rough...the green carpet has been replaced with yucky brown shag. I
plan to keep the Formica & wall coverings (except bath, too far
gone) & need inspiration. If anyone has stripped & lightened the
wood, let me know.
My immediate need has to do with the bathroom weather/water stripping.
A previous owner re-plumbed & took the bathroom apart, but failed to
get the fit precise or the stripping back in place. I've been told
there is an adhesive trim product that might fit these channels &
keep the water out of the insulation. Alternately I need a lot of the
two-part trim, a rivet gun & some instruction. Also...the screens
& window trim. You know what I mean. I need coaching in getting
new screens & trim installed & new guides/seals for the window
extender tracks. The 8 track is missing & I'd like to hear
audiophonic success stories in replacement-land w/ modern stereo equipment.
I'll get to the dents & polish later..first things first.
Thanks!
