Bingo! The only method you have for charging your
battery now is your tow vehicle, you do have the
option of removing this atiquated system  and
installing a new converter/charger system. Airstream
now uses the Magnatek 55amp converter, nice light
weight, cooling fan, and a battery sensor that will
charge the battery(s) at up to the full 55amp rating
and then taper down to a trickle charge, thereby not
cooking the batteries.
