Exactly!!! Neither is faulty............. the reason the tv pops the GFI and
the a/c doesn't is........
The little TV has a ground fault. The Air conditioner does not.
GFI stands for Ground Fault Interrupter.
What that means is that, (in very simple terms), There are not the
same amount of electrons that went up the "Hot" line
returning on the "Neutral" line. Some of the electrons got over to the
"Ground" line. The GFI counts the things running up the line and as
long as the same amount return, everything is OK. If the count is
not the same, the GFI dumps the load...the TV in this case.
