Hi Jack,
It's not a good idea to run your a/c when you aren't plugged into 30 amps.
It's my understanding that it will run, but it's putting a load on the
compressor...and will ruin it.
I don't think anything is wrong with the tv or the GFI plug.... they are just
really touchy... You never know what will set them off. The same thing
happened at my place here.... my outdoor plugs are all GFIs. When I first got
here I plugged into the basement with no problems. Then I brought the trailer
up to the other side of the house and used a GFI and it kept tripping. I had
an electrician come and install a 30 amp plug just like campgrounds have.
Also, go to Walmart (RV section) or Camping World and get a 30 amp extension
cord..... and a dog bone adapter.
I hate that you ran the a/c using 50 feet of extension cord ...one of them
being only 10 amps or gauges or whatever...... the skinny orange kind.
If you want to run the tv just run the extension cord into the house to a non
GFI plug.
