Re: [A/S] First overnight stay and delivery/dogs
Bob, I saw a vet giving advice on a show recently for the same problem - an
overanxious dog.
The advice that sticks in my mind is for the person/owner/master (don't know
what the correct title is these days) to to leave for just a few minutes and
return soon so the dog doesn't have the feeling that every time you leave
they'll be there alone for a long time. You should do this several times and
then start extending the time you are gone and vary it with short and longer
absences.. That seems to make a lot of sense; however, I don't think it
worked real well with the miniature Dobie that they were working with. I
think that anxious doggie was left alone every day from early am to evening
while the woman was at work.
I know what - get a kitten to keep the dog company!
