Well, since you mentioned it....  I just turned 55 Monday.  Retired April
Fools Day.  Two days after I submitted my letter of intent to retire was
diagnosed with malignant melanoma which is now resolved -- lucky to have
caught it early.  Had been thinking that maybe I was being impetuous
retiring;  this was a message to live now and not hesitate.  Presently I'm
negotiating my dream stream and a dodge diesel. The list has helped me
enormously to think about the full-time lifestyle and what my best choices
might be.  I'm getting very itchy, but trying to be patient to get just what
(I think) I want.

I already have a South Dakota domicile (even though I'm not there just yet)
and have a lifetime Escapee membership.  I tried to join WBCCI, arguing that
I am intending to purchase an airstream, but they politely said no can do.
They did send me a copy of the Blue Beret which is pretty cool.  The Alaskan
caravans sound (as the kids today say) awesome.

Life is sweet.  Was hoping to make the international rally this year, but
everything takes longer than I figure.  I suppose by now I should just
figure on that!

Next big rendezvous is the Escapees Fall Escapade which (speaking of the
Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel) is going to be at the West Virginia State
Fairgrounds, Lewisburg, WV, 23 - 28 September 2001.  Hope to make that.

Can hardly wait to see you down the road.
