You may have purchased a generic cartridge that fits (?) a MOEN faucet from
a home improvement store.  I had a similar experience several years ago.  A
MOEN is a high quality product and a new MOEN cartridge should put it back
in leak free service for years to come.  If not, the faucet itself may have
a manufacturing defect and MOEN will probably replace it free of charge.
