Re: [A/S] Hail Sale Visit, what's there, and extended warranty.
Jim, I almost bought the same warranty. My thinking (as convoluted as it
can be) was the first 3 years and 36 thousand miles of the 7/100000 are
covered by a better warranty anyway so in reality it is a 4/64000, still a
long time. When I asked about the exclusions regarding towing, their reply
was have all your records straight about scheduled maint. in line with the
towing specs. And be sure not to exceed your GVW because these things may
cause you problems come claim time.
I have a friend that blew a transmission cooler line and fried the thing.
I asked if this sort of thing would be covered. The reply was, because hoses
are not covered the transmission would be out of pocket. I have learned not
to ask pointed questions to the salesman behind the desk, go straight to the
service manager, this is the person that knows what claims get paid. However
as far as extended warranties go the one you bought is the best one I've come
across. And it doesn't hurt to have a good working relationship with your
dealer/service dept.
