From what I've read this is true. You really need to read the small 
print. I bought a 7yr/100k mile warranty from Gold warranty for my 
Suburban. The only reason I choose this plan was because it covers 
every thing not mentioned in the exclusions. This was a list I can 
understand. Batterys, brakes, spark plugs & a few others. Its hard to 
look at a list of whats covered & try to see what they didn't put on 
the list. I do have to have oil changes etc done & keep proof of it, 
which I do any way.

Most of these things are more for peace of mind any way. From reading 
the Suburban BB , I sort of know what may go wrong. This warranty 
cost me a little over $1200. That would be enough to cover about 1 or 
2 service calls. One head gaskit replacement would just about use 
that up.
