I would suggest the crew cab pick up.... so much handier & I think safer.  
You can always take the shell off if you need the extra height for anything.

The shell is okay.  For $1,100 it does leak a little. Leaked a lot when I got 
it but they redid the rubber stuff.  Now it just leaks a little in the very 
back where nothing matters if it gets wet.
