Hunter, if it was a Stanley Steamer type process be sure to vacuum up all of
the water from the cleaning process. Susan and I bought a house from a
couple who had Stanley Steamer clean the carpets periodically. When we got
in the house we found a dark stain around the edges of the carpet. A
professional carpet cleaner we hired said the problem was the Stanley
Steamer process left a lot of dirty water which wasn't vacuumed up around
the edges and the carpet was permanently stained. He couldn't get it out and
neither could we. I learned to use a company other than Stanley Steamer.
Others may have had a different experience.
