Verna,
 To get good, controlled charging, you need to replace the old UniVolt
converter with a modern, 3-stage charger/converter. I paid less than
$250.00 for an Inteli-Power converter with Charge Wizard, from Camping
World.

Even brand-new converters as are used in most RVs are not what batteries
need for maximum life and quick charging when they're 'low'. The 3-stage
chargers are what's called for.
