I couldn't agree with you more.  For what I've spent on my 69 
Airstream TT I could have had a much newer white box RV.  Why 
though?  We were looking for an Airstream when we bought it several 
years ago, not just a RV. I enjoy the light wood interior, the shape 
of the ceiling, the cool reading lights, the wide opening windows, 
the large rear bath, so on and so forth. The newer RV's have the 
feeling of a brand new Holiday Inn Express (or something NEW like 
that), while my TT feels more like more like a graceful 1920's grand 
hotel. There's good reason's to like both.  It's personal preference.

I just purchased a classic AS MH.  Again, I could have gotten 
something as old much cheaper, or something newer for the same price, 
but I was in the market for either an AS or GMC MH.  Because I think 
they are cool, not because I needed a MH. In the end, I did defer 
somewhat to practicality.  I decided the AS would better suit our 
camping needs and was a better economic value for a mechanical klutz 
like myself. I really can't afford to own and store them *just* 
because I like them.
