         Thanks for the lesson in economics and finance.  I'm betting that 
in 1966 an Airstream Safari sold for much less than $8000.  Does anybody 
know what the sticker price was?

With the current interest in "designer" interiors being expressed by so 
many members of the group, it is difficult to imagine how Ralph Lauren 
could stuff $150,000 worth of goodness into the already sweet Bambi.

Finding an older Bambi, Globemaster or Safari and gutting the interior, one 
could put together their dream coach for a fraction of the cost.  Probably 
far less than the cost of a new Bambi.
I recall they ran about $30,000.  Am I right or wrong.
