[A/S] Re: What's Up Jack?

Bob,

The best single thing I ever bought for automotive mechanical work in
my garage was a real hydraulic roll around floor jack (next to my
compressor and pneumatic tools maybe). The kind that you push under
the vehicle that has the long handle that you lever down to pump up
the jack arm under the lift point. I think it is rated about 2.5
tons. But, it weighs probably 100 lbs. and can be a storage problem
for the minimalist lifestyler. Since it is not used to hold the
vehicle up, only to lift it to a place where jackstands can hold it
up, it is more of a convenience thing. A simple heavy duty bottle
jack will do the same thing, but you have to get down there to place
it. The floor jack can be bought at Sam's or similar for under $50.
As I said before, bottle jacks at WalMart for under $20.
