[A/S] Mysterious lights

Hi there, new poster here.  We've had our '71 Overlander for 7+ 
years, and what started out as a simple project of redoing the carpet 
and upholstery has turned major, of course.  And, in searching out 
some solutions, found this board.  And, it seems the perfect 
opportunity to ask a question that has bugged us since we got our 
AS.  On the outside of the trailer, about a foot above the hot water 
access panel is a set of two small (1/4" or so) red lights, in a 
rubber housing and covered with a small aluminum shielding.  They do 
not seem to serve any purpose currently, but we've thought could 
possibly be either something to do with the braking system or an 
indicator that the hot water heater was lit and/or hot.  Anyone know 
for sure??
