Yes, the extension is nice...We found that we could open our Suburban 
tailgate (on the '84) without hitting the tongue jack, and can open 
the barn doors (on the '99).  You'll check, of course, but we've 
found that everything on the trailer clears nicely even in the 
tightest turns.  That's not why we bought the Hensley, but it is a 
nice addition.

Incidentally, be sure to check the U-brackets on your springbars, 
where the springbar jacks connect.  The holes should be oval in 
shape.  On ours, installed last year, the holes were round.  The oval 
hole allows a slight vertical movement when hitching, and makes it 
nioticeably easier.  I bought a pair (they're not expensive) for my 
hitch, after Carl and Cindy mentioned them on list, and am glad I did.
