Sounds like sour grapes to us.  Of course there was a time when we 
traveled fulltime in a 32' motorhome and believed we could never find 
enough room for storage in an A/S.  
We bought a 1983 Excella 31' nearly 2 years ago, from it's 3rd owner, 
and have not had to make any major repairs except for the AC. And it 
was nominal, but it quit working in the middle of July in Iowa and 
seemed terrible at the time.
We have made two trips traveling over 16,000 miles, and are preparing 
to take it out again for the next 6-9 months.
We think it is an excellent product and as for the storage, there is 
more than enough, it just doesn't look like enough because it is so 
streamlined.  And tows like nothing is back there.
But like nearly everyone on this list, we love our Dream Stream.  We 
did have to search for one in our price range at the time, but did 
luck out because the seller thought he had some serious leaks, which 
turned out to be from the roof vents, which we caulked and have since 
not had a problem.
There was some wood damage on the edges that sealed beautifully, but 
wasn't serious.

We hope you find your Airstream soon, and will be on the lookout for
