Why would the President of Airstream make the announcement if it wasn't true.

Or it could mean that Airstream sees an avenue for making money that they
had overlooked by discontinuing service to their older products.

I personally think that Airstream would be doing this on a one to one basis.
Why would they buy and rebuild old Airstreams, then sell them to compete with
new Airstreams?

It might also cause people like myself, who have no interest in restoration,
to get their units refurbished.

I can see restorable units doubling and tripleing in price.

I don't see this happening. If the price of the older Airstreams doubled
or tripled, I beleive most people would opt for a newer airstream. Most
people I talk to buy older airstreams because they're cheap and restore them
in order to have a reasonable priced Airstream.

It sure would make finding parts easier.
