Not to be condescending, but you put the horse before the cart (as we 
all have done or will do).

You need to fist find out the ratings on your truck,  tow capacity 
and combined weight rating. You can do this by taking your VIN number 
to the dealer and have them look it up, or someone on the list will 
probably post this info if you ask. Second, get the trailer weighed, 
be sure to fill tanks and add 500-800 lbs for personal item. Third, 
weigh the truck, tanks full… don't forget to add weight of passengers 
and toys/stuff in the bed. Compare the weights you have with the 
rating of the truck. You must be under the truck ratings, not only 
because it is safer but if an unfortunate incident does occur, and 
someone realizes that your overloaded, you will be in the wrong no-
matter who's fault the accident is and you insurance will most likely 
turn their back on you. Also check the rating on your hitch, tongue 
weight and  tow capacity.

Are you using a weight distributing hitch? One that will transfer 
some of the weigh from the back wheels to the front.
