As I understand your description, the standard brass garden hose type
fitting mounted on the frame extension near the dump valve connection is
likely to be the fresh water connection.  The gray water PVC plumbing line
attaches to the holding tank's 3" dump line, downstream of the dump valve
but upstream of the cap.  You can buy a special cap at any A/S dealer and
some SOB dealers which also has a garden hose connection in the face of the
cap.  With the special cap, you can keep the black water valve closed but
allow the gray water to drain via the hose connection using a piece of old
garden hose.

Safaris are light and practical while being surprisingly roomy on the
inside.

Be warned: vintage A/Ss are extremely addictive and your behavior can become
obsessive.
