I went to our local Radio Shack yesterday to inquire about Star Band. 
They told me that the reason that you must buy a computer with it is 
that it is having all kinds of problems with Windows98, and that the 
Compaq Computers they are selling are set up to work with it.  However 
they have now solved the problem and will sell it separate starting on 
April 1,01.  It will cost $300.00 installed in your home and $60.oo a 
month for unlimited use. They have no idea about installing in an RV, 
but couldn't see why not.  It will be a little harder to set up as it 
must now capture 4 satellies instead of just two.  We talked about two 
dishes on a tripod, each on capturing two satellites, and they thought 
that would be easier.  I still think the cost is high and hope it will 
come down.  By the way, the $60.00 does include the ISP, (Internet 
Service Provider).
