Dick, 

The previous owner had installed springed bed frames over the twin 
beds in our 69 (that's a 1969 model, not 69 feet) Overlander.  This 
raised the bed about 2 inches above the bed shelf.  I did not like 
the springs so took them out.  Perhaps you could do something 
similar, only raise one end 4 inches.  You could also accomplish the 
same with plywood, providing a firmer bed.

Or ... if you have an electric jack you could mount a remote switch 
near the bed and raise or lower the jack at night to adjust the bed 
angle. Wouldn't that be fun ;+)
