Here is an idea you might want to consider. Our service department came 
up with this last summer. They removed the twin mattress' and the center 
night stand. They mounted a rear hinged filler panel that fit just over 
the edge of both beds. They mounted a swing up leg at the forward edge 
that allowed the filler panel to be lifted and braced up. On top of the 
panel the customer put in a queen sized mattress. The extra space at the 
sides provided storage and made making the bed much easier. All of the 
storage space under the beds in still accessible. Very little time was 
required to make the change and it can be converted back easily.
