 I can't answer your conspiracy theories, but can tell you that Reliance
Gas on Secor Rd. in Toledo had no problem recertifying tanks for me. In
1999, I took the 2 30# (steel) tanks from my '68 A/S to them for the
treatment, and in 2000, they did the same for the 2 30# (aluminum) tanks
on the Avion. IIRC, it was about $45.00 or so, including the OPD valves
and filling the tanks with propane.

All I did was take the tanks in when they became empty and asked them to
install the OPD valves and fill 'em.

They are a bit protective of their turf: they wouldn't sell me a
"liquid" line for a 500-gallon tank because I admitted that we wanted to
fill our own small tanks. And, when I asked for one of the old valves
when they installed the OPDs, they "de-milled" it first. IE: smashed it
to make it unusable.
