Here in the Midwest we have no OPD Crisis- The Propane suppliers just 
simply will not service, inspect, test, certify, nor put OPD valves on 
tanks! They flat out demand that you buy brand new tanks! Amerigas told 
me on the phone that I was required by law to purchase brand new tanks 
(Yes even aluminum tanks) every 12 years..Which isn't true.
I had to call a valve manufactuer's  national sales rep and inform them 
their listed distributors wouldn't distribute their valves... no 
results..

I've yet to find an RV shop that will touch them either...

When I approached the propane suppliers here in Indiana, they acted very 
suspious, with questions like "Who Sent you here?" "Are you here for 
someone else?" and "Have we done this for you before?" Then they refused 
any service. What Gives???  other than stonewalling folks into new tanks 
sales? In my exasperation, I did get the best deal I could find on two 
new tanks from AirstreamDreams. BUT I have two perfectly good 30# 
Aluminum vintage Lennox Tanks, date compliant, that no one will service 
nor fill! 
I am not a crank nor a conspiracy theorist but this activity sure could 
turn someone into one!

Any ideas on a professional association I can name names to?
