I should have figured that most of the folks on the list use aluminum tanks
and not steel.

Are aluminum tanks a lot lighter? Are there other advantages? If there are
advantages, is it possible to switch over to aluminum cylinders on a '99
Bambi 19'? Are aluminum tanks available with the same (or smaller) outside
dimensions as my steel tanks which the spec. sheet says are 30# steel w/o
gauges and fit into a LP bottle cover.

I noticed at a show that the hold-down mechanism (the large wing-nut
retainer and other hardware) for the aluminum tanks on a 31' Excella looked
different then the mechanism that presently holds in my steel tanks. The
Airstream catalog says that they were also 30# tanks. Would I need to switch
over to this type of mechanism or could my current hold down hardware be
used? And if it's ok to ask, what would the approximate cost and shipping be
to No. Cal. for qty. 2.
