[A/S] Re: We got one!!! A newbie scores!
Hi Mannie,
I've always been partial to hydraulic floor jacks. I've got a small one
that came in a carrying case that I bought at the local Sears store for
about 50 dollars. It's rated at 2 tons, which is plenty for my
Overlander. The nice thing about them is that generally they will not
slip due to the pad on the end of the lifting arm.
One most A/S's, unless they have been re-panned at some point (like
mine), there should be a small square of aluminum either forward or aft
of the axle. That is there to show the strong point for a jack; it
simply marks the frame and/or crossmember. If yours does not have it,
then anywhere within about 18 inches fore or aft of the axle on outside
frame will do. Bambi's are light, so you should not have a problem. Look
for where the belly skin is attached towards the outside; that's where
the frame is.
Smooth rides! - Rick
