It looks that way to me.  The trailer wall is thicker than the door, so
that may allow for the insertion of the lock mechanism.  It also lets
you lock the screen door, since the screen door actually fits inside the
lock bolt when the bolt is thrown.

It's the Airstream emblem put on at the factory.  I've seen it on some
others, but not all.  Don't know why.
