Considering generator installation for new airstream.  I just hate the idea
of ever being stuck without air conditioning when it gets hot.  It's a bit
pricey (~$6000) but I'm told it can be nicely done:  underneath forward
bench of dinette.  Fuel tank sealed into the underbelly.  It's said that the
new generators are so quiet as to not be discernable over the hum of the air
conditioning unit.  Switch installed in the tow vehicle can start the
generator and air conditioner so that if one wants to stop for lunch half an
hour later the 'stream is nice and cool.

Financially it's beneficial to me to get all the goodies in the original
purchase price.

What are some of the cautions and drawbacks.  Are fumes and noise bothersome
to folks outside the airstream?

If money is not considered, would solar and generator be desirable and
complimentary.
